You can smell this bbq as soon as you exit the fwy, if you see smoke don't worry it's the bbq cooking! Can get busy but worth the wait. Delicious original home cooked bbq. Parking available and easy to get to.

Phillips is such a nostalgic place for me the smell literally takes me down memory lane to when I was younger coming here with my dad on a Saturday, standing in line for forever just to get some delicious bbq! Today it did not disappoint! My husband and I stopped in to grab some as a surprise for my dad since he hardly ever makes it out this way anymore! We got him the combo ribs and links with a side of sauce to go with it for his own bbq later on! He loves the sauce. He was so happy like a kid in the candy store. Although this place is a little hole in the wall it definitely packs a mighty punch when it comes to flavor!

I gave the Deluxe Combo a try, and it was pretty good overall. The Baby Backs were enjoyable, the Chicken was reasonably moist. I opted for Chicken Links, and they proved to be a solid choice, as they were tasty and not spicy. For my two sides, I went with Coleslaw and Potato Salad. The Coleslaw unfortunately turned out to be a horrible mistake, as it both looked and tasted like toxic sludge (speaking from a perspective of speculation and not prior first-hand experience) - one nauseous bite, and I decided to break my rule of not wasting food by discarding the remainder. Thankfully, the Potato Salad was quite good. Their Pecan Pie is not made in house, but is sourced from 27th Street Bakery - which means that you're getting a top-tier pecan pie! From what I could see, there appears to be some limited seating outside for on-site consumption of your order, but I do not remember seeing any indoor seating available. The parking lot is not huge, but we did not have trouble getting a spot.
